Breaking News: Ododo Election Tribunal Reserves Judgement

Court to Decide Fate of Kogi State Governorship Election

The Kogi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, sitting in Abuja, has reserved judgment in the petition filed by the Social Democratic Party and its governorship candidate, Murtala Ajaka, against the election victory of Usman Ododo.

Tribunal to Dismiss Petition?

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Ododo have asked the tribunal to dismiss Ajaka's petition for lacking merit and being incompetent. The respondents argued that the petition was filed out of time and that the evidence presented by the petitioners was grossly insufficient.

Petitioners' Argument

The petitioners' lawyer, Pius Akubo, argued that the petition was filed within time and that they had provided sufficient evidence to support their case that the election was marred by irregularities and corrupt practices.

Judgment Date

The tribunal has reserved judgment, and a date for the judgment will be communicated to the parties. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story!
